BKC Educational Management Team

BKC and Unbound thought that readers should know a little bit more about who is who on the Educational Management Team. While personal details will be left for you to find out on your own, here are the EMT's responsibilities regarding education. Please approach your DOS/ADOS or Senior Teacher to discuss any concerns you have or just come for a chat.

Cindy Chen (Education Coordinator)

• Supervise the work of Directors of Studies, Assistant Directors of Studies and Senior Teachers.
• Establish, in consultation with the relevant staff, the educational policy of BKC, and ensure that it is followed.
• Distribute information around the EMT.
• Ensure that the quality of education that students receive is as high as possible.
• Recommend and supervise the employment of teachers to BKC International House Moscow, Linguist, LinguaRu and Globus.
• Observe members of the Educational Management Team, when required.
• Currently teaching 2 classes at Borovitskaya, and a 1-to1 class at Philip Morris.

Wayne Rimmer (Director of Studies, In-Company/Satellite Schools)

• Supervise the work of the Assistant Directors of Studies Satellite Schools.
• Responsible for the quality of education students receive in the In-Company and Satellite Schools, and ensuring that BKC educational policy is followed.
• Curriculum design for specific courses required for In-Company and Satellite Schools.
• Conduct interviews and recommend the employment of teachers to BKC IH Moscow.
• Supervise orientation of new In-Company and Satellite Schools teachers.
• Liaise with timetabling concerning the placement of teachers in Satellite Schools and In-Company classes.
• Visit In-Company classes and Satellite Schools and observe teachers, as needed
• Give seminars and be involved in other training as appropriate.
• Currently teaching one class at Plekhanov Academy and one at Philip Morris.

Dennis Carr (Senior Assistant Director of Studies, Borovitskaya)

• Supervise the work of ADOSs, Senior Teacher and teachers working at Borovitskaya, Molodezhnaya, Linguist and Younger Learners Department.
• Organize and supervise orientation of new Borovitskaya teachers.
• Conduct 2nd interviews and recommend the employment of teachers to BKC IH Moscow.
• Liaise with Timetabling concerning the placement of teachers in Borovitskaya, Molodezhnaya, and Linguist.
• Provide educational and other support to teachers working at Borovitsakaya, Molodezhnaya, Linguist and Younger Learners Department.
• Give seminars as appropriate.
• Currently teaching 2 classes at Borovitskaya.

Claire Nichols & Keoki Young (Assistant Directors of Studies, Satellite Schools)

• Organize and supervise orientation of new Satellite School teachers.
• Visit Satellite Schools and observe teachers.
• Ensure that all Satellite School teachers are observed 3 times per 36-week contract.
• Provide educational and other support to teachers in Satellite Schools.
• Deal with queries and complaints from teachers, students and Directors of Satellite Schools.
• Give seminars as appropriate.
• Teach 3 classes each.

Natasha Chernyshova (Assistant Directors of Studies, Younger Learners)

• Establish BKC educational policy for children's and teenagers' classes, in consultation with the relevant staff, and ensure that it is carried out.
• Organise curriculum for annual summer and winter camps.
• Responsible for Younger Learners resources.
• Provide educational support to teachers of Younger Learners, through seminars, workshops and general advice.
• Observe teachers in the Central Schools or Satellite Schools, with special focus on teachers of Younger Learners (Chatterbox, Go, Snapshot and Highflyer).
• Teach no less than 15 academic hours a week.

• Responsible for resources.
• Ensure that teachers are observed 3 times per 36-week contract.
• Provide educational and other support to teachers.
• Give seminars as appropriate.
• Teach 3 classes each.

Rozitah O'Regen (Senior Teacher, Molodezhnaya)

• Supervise orientation of new teachers.
• Observe teachers as needed.
• Provide educational and other support to teachers.
• Teach 4 classes.

Andi Loziate (Senior Teacher, Spanish)
Sofiane Chtioui (Senior Teacher, French)
Oliver Kokartis (Senior Teacher, German)

• Interview modern language teachers before they are offered work.
• Responsible for recommending the employment of modern language teachers.
• Supervise orientation of new teachers at Globus and other BKC schools.
• Ensure that teachers are observed no less than 3 times per contract at Globus and other BKC schools.
• Provide educational and other support to teachers.
• Give monthly seminars.
• Teach no more than 4 classes each.

Nik White (Part-time Teacher Training assistant)

• Provide educational support to other EMT members by helping them with in their Teacher Support role.
• Revise Test materials (starting with Children's entrance test and High - Flyer tests).
• Be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons/evenings to help teachers in lesson planning and other educational questions.
• Produce and supply original materials for classroom use for Both English and Modern Language Departments.
• Currently teaching 3 regular classes.
