1. Thou shalt not pay ridiculously high prices for anything under any circumstances -paying up never pays at the end of the day.

2. Thou shalt always pay close attention to charts/graphs/drawings when making decisions - a picture can be worth more than a thousand words.

3. Thou shalt never get caught up in the illusion of the latest fad - EVERY fad ends and they ALL end the same way - badly!

4. Thou shalt not follow the investment crowd - ultimately the crowd is ALWAYS wrong and this is usually sooner rather than later.

5. Thou shalt be very cautious when using borrowed things - borrowings must be repaid in full whereas your own things might increase in value if you look after them well.

6. Thou shalt carefully consider the downside risk of any company before making an application.

7. Thou shalt always be patient when negotiating and avoid being spontaneous -waiting for the right opportunity to present itself is critical.

8. Thou shalt always be disciplined and cut losses when necessary - hoping the situation will improve can lead to ruin.

9. Thou shalt always adhere to a compromising philosophy as well as ensuring that one's "rules" are never broken.

10. Thou shalt always buy straw hats in winter - what the fashion world shuns today is often embraced tomorrow!
