Quick reminder, that the 13th of December will be a working day! The 12th of December is a Constitution Day in Russia, but because it's a Sunday, the holiday moves to Monday. Contract teachers will get double pay if they work this day.
The 31st of December is a Holiday, and everyone has a day off, the school will be closed!
Due to many holiday requests in December and January, Timetabling would like to inform everyone that Christmas Holiday dates are all booked. However there are still a couple of places left for New Year on first- come, first -served basis.
Young Learner Videos. Observing lessons is a great development opportunity and now you can do it in the comfort of your own home. We have 3 videos of YL lessons for you to watch: I-Spy, younger and older teens. They show experienced teachers with Russian learners. Ask Wayne if you want to borrow a video. Highly recommended!
What's New? (November, 19)
Lingua.ru Schools merged into 1 school. Those of you, who deal with Lingua.ru classes, know that there were 2 Lingua.ru schools. Last weekend Lingua number 2 has moved to the same location as #1., so there won't be any confusion to witch Lingva School to go! Congratulations to Lingva2 with their new location.
Insurance Fund for teachers. Proposition. Insurance Fund is set up for the situations when teachers need financial support e.g. problems with accommodation, accidents, medical help (in cases not covered by the contract), etc. The starting minimum of the fund is 2000 USD. This sum is deposited annually and every month it is increased by 200 USD. Aliona Lepeshko is responsible for the fund accounting and is responsible for it to the Fund Committee (please see below). The Fund Committee consists of a Teachers' Representative, Recruitment representative and a member of EMT. Teachers can apply for compensation with a letter of application to one of the members of the Fund Committee. The application should include the reasons of the application, all the circumstances and the sum of the required compensation. The committee has the right to approve, decline the application and adjust the sum.
