Elena's Story

"Who is on duty today?" That was one of the questions that started my English class at secondary school. It seems like I am due to write something about myself... Ugh! Seems like nothing interesting has happened yet.

I've been working as a recruitment manager since July this year. I am now reading your CVs (Resumes) and going crazy. One used to be a surf trainer, others were a fashion model or a pilot and there are plenty of you who have no sheets in your passport for visas and stamps…. I'm just jealous. I don't have such a great variety. Some of you used to know me as the visa manager. That's it. But you know I am quite close to you. I arrived to Moscow more than a year ago and started with BKC.

Before that I spent some years in a small town situated on the river Volga. It is surrounded by hills and the nature is just spectacular. I swam all summer long and went skiing in winter. So I was a nature creature. I studied History in University, worked in the tourist industry, but know nothing of that anymore, never mind…. One day I got bored of everything and packed my stuff to go to Moscow. I had nothing here and my Mom said I was crazy and was close to not letting me go. However I just jumped to a decision: I can't stand staying in this small town, with this nice society of almost 1 million people who are all lovely and friendly but their life is too slow. I want some action! That was my decision and here I am. I like your company, guys. I hope that such pleasant people could stay in my life for at least one year more.

See you around.
Lenchik

Rod's story

Rod's story

Well, any story is a narration i.e. fairy tail. I guess this is caused by human being's nature to never want to be boring and/or bored. So, this is an attempt to follow nature.

Once upon a time (meaning right before the Revolution) a Russian girl was born in Kamchatka (the easternmost part of Russia). At the same time, but in the westernmost part of the Empire in Brest, a Ukrainian boy was going to become a man and moved to The City (Moscow).

A long time ago (meaning right after the War) in two different cities (a thousands kilometers from each other) they became parents of two different kids (a girl & a boy, Ukrainian / Baltic and Russian / Tatar) fated to meet each other and to give birth to a boy (me) in the Russian Indian Republic of Komi (it is not an abbreviation for Communist, but the real name of the people from north of Urals) in a city founded by political prisoners from all states of Russia who were jailed in a GULAG in the city named Inta ('crossroad' in Komi language, because for hundreds of years it was a place of meetings of Komi deer shepherds).

As is well known, in Crime & Punishment Dostoevsky chose the name Rodion for the main character who was to kill a babushka (a granny woman). Consequently, once upon a time (meaning right before Perestroika) in this northern city in their family (of engineers) was born a kid named Rodion (a stranger). This boy was teased for his name (Rodion rhymes with "vyidi von" - he's the first one out of Russian kids games) in school. So, he needed to be stoic. And to avoid the crime he decided he needed to become a philosopher. Well, right after the collapse of the evil empire he went to the south of Russia to study philosophy where he met a girl who was from a different world (but it's another story) and who is right now directly behind him while he is writing his story about his long path to becoming a part of the administration of a language school where people from throughout the world meet each other and live and work!

Well, I work in BKC-ih Moscow and I was introduced to you as a PR Manager. But I believe this is not an abbreviation only of Public Relation but Positive Reinforcement as well.
